IASL volunteer project covered by the New York Times

When I first started duplicating DVDs as part of a volunteer project organized by Carl Malamud, I never thought the project would garner any media coverage, let alone interest from New York Times. But, I'm thrilled because the project is important for freedom of information and for democracy.

The Next VoCamp to be in Washington, DC

In a few weeks the Washington DC metro region will be hosting our very own VoCamp. VoCampDC will be held at the end of next month, May 30-31. Semantic Web Milestone: VoCamp in Austin

Another Successful Tech Event: Tech Cocktail DC 4

Liz:

Last night was Tech Cocktail DC4, a networking event for technology enthusiasts and a place for a few startups to get a chance to demo. It was a full house at LeftBank in Adams Morgan, with plenty of socializing and demoing throughout the night. For me, it was a good chance to catch up with people and meet new people.
