Off to DrupalCon Copenhagen
Frank, Irakli and I are arriving in Copenhagen on Monday for this fall’s European DrupalCon - which runs August 23rd - 27th. Phase2 is a bronze sponsor of the event.
As always, we are looking forward to meeting as many people as we can, catching up with old friends and sharing in good Drupal spirit with the rest of the community. If you are someone that wants to chat about something with Phase2, you can try to find us hanging around our booth, although likely we will be attending sessions and talking with folks more.
Sessions we will be presenting include:
- A Look At OpenPublish - the Drupal Distro for Publishers OpenPublish is a packaged distribution of the open source CMS Drupal , tailored to the needs of online publishers. First released just a year ago, it has already gained a lot of momentum. With hundreds of active installations, thousands of downloads, professional support from Phase2, Acquia and their partners, 9 minor releases and two major releases later it is the obvious choice for news publishers who want to get a head-start while implementing their news outlet on Drupal.
Come and learn why some of the largest and oldest publications have chosen OpenPublish as their publishing platform, how OpenPublish is helping widen the circle of Drupal adoption, what it can offer to publishers, what is coming in the future releases and engage in discussion with OpenPublish authors.
- Drupal Distributions: The Dos and Don'ts Drupal Distributions are a hot topic in the Drupal community. This session is intended to share first-hand experience building multiple, popular Drupal distributions: Managing News, OpenAtrium, OpenPublish, Tattler, recently announced OpenPublic.
Jeff Miccolis of Development Seed and Irakli Nadareishvili of Phase2 Technology will discuss various architectural challenges of building and managing a distribution, solutions such as Installation Profiles, CTools, Features, Context, Drush etc., as well as how to facilitate two-way communications with the community, involve your users and where to get help.
Things we are always interested in talking about, meeting about and learning about include:
- Drupal distros
- Hiring/recruiting
- Better ways to deploy and manage Drupal
- Running a Drupal shop
- Drupal in Government
- Drupal for Publishers
- Drupal for Non-profits
- Semantic Web / RDF / RDFa
- API/Open data integration
- Scaling Drupal
- Theming Drupal
- Cool modules
