Counting the Days until SXSW Interactive!

Liz:

SXSW Interactive begins this Friday in Austin, Texas. According to their description, SXSWi is all about "The Brightest Minds in Emerging Technology." It is a tough conference to describe because it isn't about a particular software or technology or even a defined industry. SXSWi looks at the latest and yet to be developed technologies. And it is about the people who are using or would use these technologies - not some future theoretical user.

Overall, it is one of the best opportunities to get a feel for where technologies trends are going and the subsequent value propositions to both users and businesses. I hope to learn a lot about some of these particular areas through the panels offered. The selection looks good this year. I have found quite a few specialized sessions that I can't wait to geek out in (like metadata). I also look forward to learning more about areas I've never gotten around to exploring beyond basic understanding (like data portability). And of course, I can't forget to mention the parties. Apparently, this is when the networking magic takes place.

For those of you attending, feel free to connect with me through this blog or on Twitter (@liz315)! For those of you who haven't heard of SXSW Interactive, check out the site: http://sxsw.com/interactive/

Look for some blog posts and tweets from me in the next week! I'll do my best to let you know if it all lives up to the amazing reputation it has...
