Today Phase2 announced our second turn-key open-source solution: Tattler (app), a topic monitoring tool for the Web. Tattler finds and aggregates content from the Web on topics you ask it to monitor. Using Semantic Web technologies, Tattler mines news, websites, blogs, multimedia sites, and other social media like Twitter, to find mentions of the issues most relevant to your organization.

TripIt's core feature is the ability to accept emails with travel/booking information and then use that information to automatically populate the user's itinerary. I'll provide an example: say you just booked an Amtrak ticket to New York. You can then forward your confirmation email from Amtrak to plans@tripit.com. In addition to their own technical innovations, TripIt increases its value by following the trend of integrating with third party apps.

There were great presentations from Washington Post.com's Amanda Zamora and Phase2's Jeff Walpole.

The Obama campaign was founded on hope and change. Our fearless leader promised a new level of openness, not only for major issues like healthcare and corporate financial reporting, but also in the daily operations of the government. Now that he’s been in office 5 months, it’s becoming very clear that such leaps toward transparency will demand a new level of open data, technologically advanced systems, and all at a reduced price

There's really no reason you should need Javascript to preload images when it can be done with a little CSS.
